San Diego Filmmaker Plans Blink-182 Biopic, Ignores Universal Lack of Interest

Daniel Flores, a San Diego-based filmmaker, says he plans to make a biopic on the early days of Blink-182. Apparently, Flores saw the skateboard film "Lords of Dogtown" and was inspired to give Blink the same treatment. Seriously.

He and some friends have been working on a script, and he's been trolling Craigslist to fill out the cast. But hold on. Before you, or anyone else confused numb by the very idea of this movie, turn red with incredulity, you should know that the band themselves are not on board. At all. Though Flores has contacted them for song rights, and to get them on screen for a cameo, the band and their management aren't returning their calls. It seems even they know this is a bad idea. I guess this really is growing up.

But like most true artists, Flores won't be deterred by rejection or common sense. Dude is scouting locations, and collecting promising headshots, and he's got a $55,000 budget. He is a true fan, and will bring his favorite band's story to the screen. Although one has to wonder, if he's such a fan, why he'd want to attach Travis Barker to a train wreck after he's already pulled through that plane crash. [MTV]
