Sales Projections Slashed For DJ Hero, Could Signal Plastic Instrument Fatigue

When, oh when, will the recession release us from its Godzilla-like grasp? The latest casualty is Activision’s DJ Hero, which found its sales projections cut in half by Wall Street analysts. Instead of moving 1.6 million units in the U.S., the game is now expected to sell around 600,000 units. This is of course because of the continued economic downturn and not at all because DJ Hero at its core seems like a callous cash grab conceived by Activision executives upon realizing the ceiling had been reached by the Guitar Hero franchise. Basically, if you’re a patriot, get out there and mix a little Bell Biv Devoe. Otherwise, the commies win. [The Daily Swarm]
