Saint Etienne Releasing Special Christmas Album

Saint Etienne are already avowed fans of the Christmas period after releasing their "I Was Born on Christmas Day" single (above) with Tim Burgess of the Charlatans back in 1993. Now, the band has taken that obsession to its logical conclusion, albeit 17 years later, with the release of a Christmas themed album.

The limited edition recording is titled A Glimpse of Stocking, and will include reworkings of seven old songs, plus seven new tracks. "After locking ourselves away for six weeks in deepest Surrey, on a diet of glogg and cheese footballs to get us in the spirit, we can announce that our long-promised Christmas album A Glimpse Of Stocking is finally ready,” reads a statement from the band.

But that’s not all. The record will be available in a variety of formats, including a deluxe package in which singer Sarah Cracknell will immortalize your name in song for a mere £150 (approx. $240 at the current exchange rate). Now you know exactly what to get that pasty Anglophile in your life for Christmas.
