New York rappers just love making sequels to their finest albums, don't they? It all kind of kicked off last year in terms of the records actually coming out, what with Wu-Tang's Raekwon dropping 2009's strongest hip-hop LP in Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Pt. II. Following that, we have seen announcements for follow-ups from, among others, Sadat X, Lloyd Banks, and, now, Rae's fellow Shaolin Monk, GZA. This Wu member is looking to drop Liquid Swords 2, according to a tweet from RZA, who is apparently providing production assistance. It's tentatively scheduled to drop this fall and if it's anything like what the Chef accomplished last year, the Wu may very well top 2010's Best Of list, too.
Seeing GZA do most of Liquid Swords a few years ago was one of the better concerts I've ever been to.
GZA's been quietly steady for a while now, but I would love to see him knock another one out of the park.
Yeah, who would have thought he'd end up being the Wu's consistent workhorse? Not too flashy, just straight up solid.
Yesssss!!!!
Most consistent...hmmm...maybe. I think Ghostface has been the most consistent.
The GZA is truly a genius. As said above i think his solo work is my favorite of the whole clan.
