RZA Announces An ‘Iron Fist’ Anime Short W/ ‘Afro Samurai’ Creator, Win Sweepstakes For Screening In NYC

The RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan is one lucky man. A man who has grown passionate for the Kung Films of the seventies and eighties actually got direct and star in his own Kung Fu influenced film The Man With The Iron Fists. On top of that, he’ll be joining a cast consisting of Russell Crowe, Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Byron Mann, Rick Yune, David Bautista, and Jamie Chung.

From shadowing one of the greats in Quinton Tarantino, the RZA has a pretty big shadow to fill. But sometimes, passion can definitely fill those holes nicely. We’ll find out once the film is officially released November 2, 2012.

And just like his mentor, the way Tarantino released an animated version for the Kill Bill series the RZA will be releasing an animated short for his film. Working with the writer and producer of Afro Samurai Eric Calderon, it will be released on Machinima’s YouTube Channel sometime this month. No details have been reported as to how the anime will connect to the movie’s plot.

The RZA and Machinima will also be holding a sweepstakes contest that would have the winner and a guest winning flights and tickets to see the New York City premiere of The Man With The Iron Fists. Watch the video below as the RZA explains the contest:
