Ryan Lochte Facing Copyright Battle With MC Eiht Over Use Of “Jeah” Ad-Lib

Yesterday we posted a news item about the absurd idea that Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer Ryan Lochte had of trademarking the ad-lib, “Jeah!” We assumed that the ad-lib came from Young Jeezy but as it turns out, MC Eiht from Compton, Los Angeles, has claimed that his the originator of the ad-lib and has stated that he is going to send a “cease and desist” letter to the swimmer.

    As MC Eiht told TMZ:

“Why try and trademark something his ass didn’t even create? I am mad that he isn’t giving me proper recognition for taking my saying. He is just disrespectful.”

The Compton rapper went on to say that he isn’t concerned about the money but rather “respect and truth.”

In response, Lochte’s manager told TMZ that Ryan has been using the ad-lib for years and that this was the first they had heard of such claim.

Not to make any assumptions here about the character of MC Eiht, but if you were Ryan Lochte, would you want to piss off a rapper from Compton? Has he heard “Straight Up Menace?”[TMZ]
