Ryan Adams: Internet Theme Song Writer and Future Columnist?

Ryan Adams has been charged with creating "The Awl, the Song (Hair Metal Version)," the new tune that debuted yesterday on the Awl website. Although reps for the former BlackBook intern haven't confirmed the rumor, the news blog did hint that the track comes from a "popular recording artist" who will soon pen a regular column for the site. ("[I]t’s going to change your life," the Awl says of the upcoming articles.)

Next month, Adams will launch an exhibit of his artwork at Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York. His pieces will be auctioned off at the Sept. 23 opening to help raise funds for Housing Works. [Pitchfork]
