Ryan Adams compares new Oasis album to Radiohead

Ryan Adams is not one to stray from a provocative statement, but his current stance is putting him squarely opposed to convential thinking of the music community. While many music fans are prepared to greet the new Oasis album with a resounding yawn, Adams says Dig Out Your Soul is a listening experience on par with Radiohead's Kid A. Adams offered the following take on the album, which releases October 6:

"The first time I heard Kid A I went 'OK, I have no fucking idea what kind of music this is but it's moving me. It sounds like a revelation.' That's what the new Oasis stuff sounds like it sounds like. They have entered into some strange uncanny spiritual crazy door and have just lost themselves completely to it and it is marvelous."

Adams supported Oasis on their recent world tour. His next album with the Cardinals, entitled Cardinolgy, is scheduled for release on October 28 via Lost Highway Records. The Gallagher brothers have yet to offer comment. [NME]
