One of the lone bright spots in Relapse Records' recent spate of ho-hum signings, metal sextet Rwake get megapoints for corrupting Mastodon's steadily squeakifying prog-metal with the grimy sludge of Eyehategod. They're also the first memorable thing to come out of Little Rock, AR since our strawberry-nosed 42nd president. And holy holy, Rwake is touring through the end of May with ex-labelmates Black Cobra, as scuzzy and gigantic-sounding a band as the Bay Area has unearthed since the heyday of Sleep and Neurosis.
