The U.K.’s Royal Mail has announced plans to issue stamps of famed British albums for next year. Although the British everyman was probably happier to learn the union representing Britain’s postal workers have called off strikes planned later this week, unsurprisingly we are more interested to find out which albums' artwork will find their way into philatelist’s scrapbooks. Before you start complaining all U.S. stamps look like Georgia O’Keefe paintings, we did have Elvis, the Simpsons and this.
Parklife – Blur
Power, Corruption & Lies – New Order
Led Zeppelin IV
Screamadelica – Primal Scream
Let It Bleed – Rolling Stones
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars – David Bowie
London Calling – The Clash
Tubular Bells – Mike Oldfield
The Division Bell – Pink Floyd
A Rush of Blood to the Head – Coldplay
You probably noticed there are no Beatles albums represented. Apparently, the Royal Mail already issued stamps for six of them. (What, no White Album?) [Via: BoingBoing]
