Guns ‘n’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is not one to take a soft drink related bet lightly. The singer wasted no time in responding to Dr Pepper’s offer to buy a soda for everyone in the United States if Chinese Democracy comes out at some point this year, and offered some surprisingly conciliatory comments. Rose released a statement saying that he was “pleased to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy.” Axl went on to state that even though Dr Pepper said that the band’s ex-guitarists Slash and Buckethead would be denied a free drink, he’d share his can with Buckethead, who is featured on the album. Chinese Democracy, which has been subject to a series of mysterious delays over the last few years, was last scheduled for release in March 2007. No new release date has been announced. [Gigwise]
