After getting the monkey off his bank and releasing Chinese Democracy, Axl Rose now has plenty of time to devote to policing the Dr. Pepper promotion that coincided with the album's release. He apparently doesn't have much interest in interviews or public appearances (Call me, Axl!), but he did make sure that his lawyer, Alan Gutman, fired off a letter to the soft drink company demanding an apology for the botched giveaway. In addition the letter stated that the campaign had "exploited the singer's reputation and the "eagerly awaited" album, and stated that payment would be sought for the unauthorized use of the Guns N' Roses brand." Representaives of either party have yet to release official statements of whether any of the issues outlined in the letter are going to be addressed. [Advertising Age via Stereogum]
