Ronson pulls Winehouse’s Bond theme

Mark Ronson has pulled the plug on Amy Winehouse’s theme for the upcoming James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, citing the singer’s continuing erratic behavior.

There was a lot of excitement among fans and the media when news broke that Ronson and Winehouse were collaborating on the song, but the sessions quickly became unproductive. Ronson said the duo “did work on it but we never finished it. I don’t think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings on it. I’m not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet.”

A spokesman for Winehouse responded to Ronson’s comments by saying that Ronson “had presented a track to Amy, but she had other ideas about the direction it should take. We’re sure they will continue to make great music together.” Quantum of Solace is currently scheduled for release on the first weekend in November. [NME]
