    Ronnie Spector, best known as lead singer of iconic girl group The Ronettes, weighed in on singles by some of today’s indie heavyweights for Spin. While the idea of hipster credibility may be miles from her mind at this point in her career, it’s tough to deny her group’s influence on the songs discussed in the article.


    Spector seems impressively perceptive and in touch, hearing the Joey Ramone and Shangri-Las in Girls’ “Ghostmouth,” although her thoughts on Best Coast and Dum Dum Girls suggest she’s not too keen on anything lo-fi.
