Here’s news that would have been better reported in 1980 (aka after Some Girls): The Rolling Stones are reportedly mulling retirement following a 2012 world tour. The Stones are all over 60, so it’s about time. Plus with the world ending in 2012, that makes fiscal sense. But seriously, have the Stones really been non-retired since 1980? I guess if you count Tattoo You (I don’t), yes, but they’ve been playing the same songs for 40 years. They’re more like 65-year-old accountants at this point anyway–they still go through the motions, but filing annual tax reports doesn’t have the same flair it used to. [Spinner]
