Rolling Stone compiles summer tour guide

Rolling Stone has long since ceased to be a cutting edge publication, but there are times when the magazine does something so blatant that no amount of snarky political commentary can hide the its age. Take, for instance, Rolling Stone’s Summer Tour Guide, which should aggregate all the summer’s best concerts for eager music fans. In a summer where Radiohead, Pearl Jam and Gnarls Barkley will all be hitting the road, Rolling Stone chooses to lead off its coverage with...Jimmy Buffet. While his seeming seasonal reemergence from cryogenics may signal summer to frat boys across the nation, why would Rolling Stone guide people to the likes of Buffet, Maroon 5, the Jonas Brothers, Rod Stewart and New Kids on the Block? Though the guide also mentions tours by Wilco, R.E.M, Gnarls Barkley, and Kanye West, check somewhere else if you’re looking to pass the summer with anything but the most standard stadium fare. Predictably predictable list. They did get 38 page views from me though.
