So you know that whole Lauryn Hill and A Tribe Called Quest thing announced yesterday? Well, the news that she would be performing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Tribe would perform an entire album might have just been a rumor. But apparently Guerilla Union, which puts on Rock the Bells, is entertaining these rumors and wants potential ticket buyers to "stay tuned."
Anyway, the actual lineup was announced last night at some sort of a release party and, well, hip-hop heads have plenty to salivate over at this year's festival. The four headlining acts -- Wu-Tang Clan, Rakim, KRS-One, and Slick Rick -- are performing their respective classic albums in full. That means you'll hear Enter the 36 Chambers, Paid In Full, Criminal Minded, and The Great Adventures of Slick Rick in their entirety. Also, some Rock the Bells mainstays are returning, such as Murs and Brother Ali, while newcomers Clipse and YelaWolf are on the bill, too.
The only issue is that so far they have released just four dates, with the shows being held in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Washington, D.C. But like years past, it's possible the festival will make its way to smaller cities, such as Boston (*crosses fingers*).
