When Weezer half-covered Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" earlier this year, the band revealed that they don't have a problem with pop. Now it's a few months later, and we know just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

When Buzznet.com did a word-association interview with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, and threw out Katy Perry, Cuomo responded with, "We're writing together next week, can't wait!"

Given the blatant poppiness of Weezer's recent material this isn't really that surprising, but I doubt that many Weezer fans were ready to trespass into "Ur So Gay," "I Kissed a Girl," and "Waking Up in Vegas" territory. But in the interest of real talk, new Katy Perry has been better than new Weezer, so the biggest risk in all of this is that Cuomo might lower Perry's brand.
