Rivers Cuomo Talks New Weezer Album, Ryan Adams Collaboration

Talking to MTV Radio earlier today, Rivers Cuomo said that “people are going to be hearing new Weezer very soon.” To put things in perspective, this will be the band’s sixth album since Pinkerton. These guys have been putting out records at an impressive clip this century, which would be even more impressive if the music itself wasn’t mostly unlistenable. Yet a supposed collaboration with the equally prolific-yet-uneven Ryan Adams (no Lil’ Wayne, but still…) bodes well for this upcoming effort, which the sixteen people who still truly care about Weezer are desperately hoping will sound like Pinkerton. Here’s hoping this one will at least have a wacky cover, as opposed to being, say, The Yellow Album. [MTV]
