River Phoenix’s Final Movie, ‘Dark Blood,’ Will Premiere At Netherlands Film Festival

Nearly 20 years after his death, River Phoenix’s final movie, Dark Blood, will finally see the light of day. The film is set to premiere at this year’s Netherlands Film Festival on September 27.

Last fall, director George Sluizer announced that he was trying to finish Dark Blood, which he abandoned after Phoenix’s tragic and sudden death back in 1993. When the young actor passed, the movie only had 11 more days left of shooting, and it appears that Sluizer has finally completed the project, which portrays Phoenix as a recluse who takes two chichi interlopers prisoner.

Here’s hoping for a wide release!
