Rival Schools reunite for U.K. shows, new album in the works

Walter Schreifels, of Quicksand and Gorilla Biscuits fame, has reunited Rival Schools for seven shows this June, and Drowned In Sound reports that the post-hardcore band will have a follow-up to its one and only album, United By Fate, released in 2001.  To celebrate Rival Schools' return, DIS has compiled a "Golden Age of Emo" list. Yes, apparently emo has a golden age, from 1997 to 2001, and here are its albums:

The Promise Ring, Nothing Feels Good

Braid, Frame and Canvas

The Get Up Kids, Something to Write Home About

Glassjaw, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence

Small Brown Bike, Dead Reckoning

Thursday, Full Collapse

Hey Mercedes, Everynight Fire Works

From that era they missed Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is the Reason. Never got into half the bands they listed there.
