In February we posted a 22-minute track called "Hyperbolic Chamber Music" that featured 26 rappers from around the country over a too-slick-for-its-own-good beat by Canadian up and comer Ryan Hemsworth. Having brought the world that excellent production--along with a mixtape and two EPs over this and last year, Hemsworth is ready to drop some new music.
The producer's next EP, entitled Last Words, will be out Aug. 21 via Wedidit. Speaking about the "healthy challenge" of creating an EP, Hemsworth had the following to say.
I’m trying to put a whole bunch of feelings into under 25 minutes, in a way that can work in the club, bedroom, car, or wherever it’s listened to. It’s not what every artist intends to do with an EP but I find it fun to approach it that way. That’s what I wanted, a bit of everything. Brightness, darkness, positive, negative, quiet, loud. Once the tracks are there, the other stuff slowly falls into place.
Watch the video for the EP's opening track, "Charly Wingate," below, and expect remixes by Prefix favorite Shlohmo and others to be announced next week. [FACT]
