R.I.P. Snooks Eaglin

Snooks Eaglin, one of the last of the bona fide acoustic Delta blues and  R& B guitarists passed away at the age of 72.

Snooks was born blind, yet his acute aural dexterity gained him the reputation as a human jukebox in his hometown of New Orleans because of his colossal song repertoire. Snooks will be remembered for his virtuosic fingerpicking, congenial voice and his eclectic employment of styles.

Snooks was the greatest R & B guitarist/singer I know. His Blacktop CDs of the 80s/90s are absolutely superb.

he definitely kept it real, and should have gotten in on some of the Fat Possum gravy in the late 90s.
