R.I.P. Paul Gray, Bassist For Slipknot
Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, known as "The Pig" or "#2" within the band, was found dead today in an Urbandale, Iowa motel room. Police have not yet released an official statement, but foul play is not suspected in the death. Slipknot, from nearby Des Moines, rose to prominence with an eponymous debut album and a follow-up, Iowa, that was hailed by David Fricke as "the first great record of the nu-metal era." The band has thus far been silent about Gray's death. [The AV Club]
