In early October, we reported that Rhapsody was set to acquire fellow streaming music service Napster at the end of November. And now that we're officially in December, the time has apparently come for Napster to call it a day. According to Stereogum, the cat-inspired logo is officially no more. Rhapsody has now absorbed all of Napster's subscribers while Best Buy, which owned Napster, will get a minor owner stake in Rhapsody. Man, it seemed like just yesterday that Lars Ulrich was steaming about Napster, wasn't it? Sigh.
