R.I.P. Alice In Chains Bassist Mike Starr
Former Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr has passed away at the age of 44. Starr helped form the band in Seattle back in the late ‘80s, and they enjoyed considerable success during the grunge boom of the early ‘90s—Wikipedia reports that they sold over 25 million albums worldwide during that decade.
It’s not yet clear how Starr died, but his well-publicized drug problems, which resulted in a stint on the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab, are thought to be the likely cause. TMZ is reporting that Starr’s father has called his son’s death "a terrible shock and tragedy.” The bassist was found in a house in Salt Lake City yesterday after police received a call notifying them of his death.
