A few days after the Vatican officially gave the thumbs up to the Beatles*, Ringo Starr has come out and said he doesn't care about the Vatican big-upping his old band, and even brings up that the Vatican going back on their opinion of the band in the '60s is a tad hypocritical.
"Didn't the Vatican say we were Satanic or possibly Satanic? And they've still forgiven us?" He added, in a reference to the current scandal over paedophile priests in the Catholic Church, "I think the Vatican, they've got more to talk about than the Beatles."
Boom. In your face, Catholic Church. Right in your face. He does bring up a good point too; if something considered satanic 40 years ago can be deemed unsatanic when the church needs some good publicity, what else can be? I wonder Black Sabbath will be sanctioned by the Vatican soon. [Spinner]
*- Which is funny, because in the last few weeks, the only things they've given the thumbs up to is the Beatles, and refusing to turn in child molesters.
