Ringo Starr solo catalog goes digital

Paul McCartney is quite the trendsetter these days! A couple days ago Sonic Youth announced that they would follow the erstwhile Beatle's lead and release a comp album through Starbucks' Hear Music imprint; now Ringo Starr has agreed to release his post-Beatles solo catalog digitally, hot on the heels of last month's similar announcement from McCartney. Starr's entire Capitol/EMI output will be available, as will six different "Ringo-tones." Which means you might have your business meeting interrupted by the soft strains of "Back Off Boogaloo" ringing from someone's cellphone. Oh glorious day.

I bet Ringo has boxes of his solo albums in his basement. Obviously the least successful (and worthwhile) of the four members' post-Beatles careers.
