It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard Japanese-born, London-based singer songwriter turned Anti-Agency model. Her tracks such as “Sleeping In Waking” and “Who?” were an absolutely refreshing experience when hearing them for the first time. Her soul-filled vocals lent itself effortlessly to the big production that backed her up.
Her newest track “Tunnel Vision” still contains her gorgeous vocals but is a much more lighthearted affair. Produced by Hoost, the track comes in time for the winter to finally fade away and let the sun shine through. Like a carnival during the spring, it’s a playful charming track that plays up Sawayama’s soulful voice. There’s even hints of Mariah Carey’s 90s R&B styling on the track.
