Rick Ross did more than just premiere two new tracks last night on Funkmaster Flex's Hot 97 show. He also spoke with the DJ about some of the more recent, um, controversies he's been a part of as of late. We are, of course, referring to the run-in with Kreayshawn at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
Why he's still talking about it is pretty much beyond me, though, considering that shit should be dead at this point. And not only that, but he's got two hot records out now and a new album, God Forgives, I Don't, dropping in December. I'm sorry, Boss, but I don't think talking about some bullshit with a pint-sized female rapper is going to push records. To be fair, Flex brought it up, but still.
Rozay also discussed his much more interesting, potentially wax-worthy beef with Jeezy, which could sell albums for both rappers. You might remember that Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103 is tentatively due out in December, too.
Beyond the tough talk, Ross chatted about Maybach Music Group and the still newest signees (aside from Stalley). He reveals that Meek Mill's debut should be out in 2012 while, as we know, Wale's Ambition drops Nov. 1. You then get to hear about what influenced and inspired Ross' new album, including tracks from Ice Cube, Eric B. and Rakim, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Listen to the interview bits below. God Forgives, I Don't drops Dec. 13.
