Originally slated to drop Dec. 13, Rick Ross' new album, God Forgives, I Don't, has now been delayed due to the rapper's recent health issues. Billboard spoke with Def Jam Senior VP of Marketing Chris Atlas, who revealed that they are being cautious about rushing the album's release. He noted that the label doesn't want to put any additional pressure on Rozay and that they were unable to "confirm certain opportunities" following his two seizures last month. You can read Atlas' statement on the God Forgives, I Don't delay below.
"I think we’re all aware of his recent health issue, and based on some of the minor setbacks with that, we weren’t able to confirm certain opportunities, because he physically wasn’t able to deal with certain things at the time," says Atlas. "We want this to be his biggest album — we know it’s going to be his biggest album — so we did not want to pressure him into releasing an album based on the sake of a date."
