The folks of Daytrotter recorded one of their signature sessions with Secretly Canadian rocker Richard Swift while all involved were down in Austin for SXSW. Swift performed three songs from his album released earlier this year, Dressed Up for the Letdown: the title track, "The Ballad of You Know Who," and "The Songs of National Freedom." Swift also does "Sadsong St.," from his earlier album The Novelist. In the course of describing the tunes, Swift mentions everyone from D'Angelo to Brian Wilson to Django Reinhardt to Paul McCartney to Cole Porter as inspirations. Head here to hear it all.
