Former Ramone sues and fails

Last Friday, U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin ruled a resounding ‘Gabba Gabba No’ in former Ramone’s drummer, Richard Reinhardt's lawsuit against the estate of the late Johnny Ramone and the group's management company. Reinhardt, who went by Richie Ramone from 1983 to 1987, claimed he was owed $1 Million dollars for digital download sales of the six songs he wrote for the Ramones which include "Somebody Put Something in My Drink" and "I Know Better Know." Reinhardt certainly does now because, ruled the court, the "now and hereafter" clause in a contract he signed covers digital use of his songs.

Hmmmm. That's too bad Richie got screwed again. He's pretty much the reason I stayed a Ramones fan through the 80s. Great drummer. "Too Tough To Die" would'nt have sounded the same with "metal" Marky on the skins. I hope at some point he gets paid his due. "Somebody Put Something in my Drink" is classic.
