Richard Hawley Returns With <i>Truelove's Gutter</i> on September 22

Velvet voiced rockabillyesque crooner Richard Hawley will be back with his sixth full-length studio album, Truelove's Gutter, slated for release on September 22 on Mute Records. Recorded in his native hometown of Sheffield, England, these eight songs are potentinally some of his darkest to date. Though when you read the title of the album quickly, you may want to read 'glitter' rather than 'gutter, Hawley's trademark gorgeous guitar lines almost beg the mistake. Don't think this is going to be music you can leave on in the background though, if Hawley's own impression of the album holds true, He says "I wanted it to be a listening experience from start to finish, where you couldn’t just pause it and go off and watch Coronation Street or whatever,” explains Hawley. “Sonically, it flows. It’s not jumping all over the place. It just has a mood that goes through the whole thing.”   Corrie be damned, then, as well as Eastenders!
