Though it's been a while since there's been any action on the new-release front as far as Richard Buckner goes, and no updates on that front are forthcoming, the dark prince of moody indie folk/alt country will nevertheless be giving his fans something to shout about over the next couple of months. Merge, Buckner's current label, will be offering digital reissues of three out-of-print albums on March 10th: Bloomed, The Hill, and Impasse. In other words, every proper Buckner album not on MCA or already on Merge. The albums cut an interesting historical and stylistic swath, hailing from different points in Buckner's development, and variously including contributions by everyone from Calexico to Tex-Mex accordion king Ponty Bone. If that's not enough to excite hardcore Bucknerites, their hero will also be supporting these reissues with a tour beginning in March. Full tour schedule is still to come, but below you'll find what we know so far.
