This year's Revenge of the Book Eaters benefit concert has a great lineup and will raise money for a great cause. Only thing that isn't too great is that it's a one-time event, after last year's inaugural fete crisscrossed the country on tour. Oh well. If you're in New York City the evening of August 26, definitely get on down to the Beacon Theatre. Performing will be New Pornographer A.C. Newman (damn I hope he's working on a new solo album), My Morning Jacket leader Jim James, Feist, and Grizzly Bear. Sarah Vowell will be reading some of her work, and the show will be hosted by funny man Demetri Martin. Proceeds go towards Dave Eggars' 826NYC writing program for children.
