Just one day after R.E.M. officially called it quits, they have announced details for the greatest hits compilation they were putting together at the time of their dissolution. It’s called Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982 – 2011, and it’s apparently set to drop Nov. 15 on Warner Bros. Records. Although a track listing for the project hasn’t been revealed, Consequence of Sound points out that the album will include new tracks recorded after the sessions for this year’s Collapse Into Now.
As R.E.M. fans no doubt know, this won’t be the first greatest-hits/career-retrospective compilation released by the seminal alt-rock outfit. A collection highlighting their earlier years — And I Feel Fine… The Best of the I.R.S. Years 1982-1987 — dropped in September 2006.
