This year's Record Store Day has been confirmed as a success: According to Nielsen Soundscan, it was the biggest day for vinyl sales since it began as a service in 1991. Sales were up pretty much across the board, stores reporting individual sales increases from last year between 20 and 100 percent. Vinyl was the big draw, as sales between this year's and last went up 376.7 percent, which is obviously a lot. I imagine next year's will be even more serious. [Billboard]
