Record Label Advertises on Torrent Site, Could be First

So two guys are in a marketing meeting and one of them says, “I think that it would be a really good idea to advertise on a torrent site" and the other guy says, "Is this a joke?" It is not a joke. Honor Roll Music and the fellas who started it, who also make up the band Awesome New Republic, decided to put a banner up on isoHunt, a top torrent site. This seems to be a honey-works-better-than-vinegar move that says, “We will make you love us, and then you will want to support us.”

Colin Foord told TorrentFreak that, “As far as we know, we are the first record label/band to advertise directly on a torrent search engine." [TorrenFreak]
