With their Parks and Recreation characters moving to Washington D.C. for the fifth season, Adam Scott and Aubrey Plaza will be appearing with some real-life politicians on screen.
Senators John McCain, R-Ariz., Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Olympia Snowe, R-Maine are already confirmed to cameo as themselves in upcoming season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Scott had a good experience working with the senators, saying “I think they are used to kind of having a poker face and keeping close to the vest, so acting comes really naturally to them. They were really good.” In particular, Scott enjoyed working with Boxer and Snowe, calling them both “really sweet” and “really nice.”
Scott and Plaza both have dream guests for the upcoming season as well. Scott joked that Abraham Lincoln would be his choice for a guest star, before saying, "I think Hillary [Clinton] would be the ultimate for Leslie," referring to Amy Poehler’s politically obsessed character. Plaza agreed that Hillary and Bill Clinton would be great guests and said, “I want to meet them.”
Season five of Parks and Recreation will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9:30pm on NBC.
