First, the playwright and producer of an upcoming musical about the life of Notorious B.I.G. stole 800 bucks worth of books from a Barnes & Noble, like a nerdy version of the song "Gimme The Loot." Now the Estate of Notorious B.I.G. is stressing that they have not authorized this musical, entitled "Ready 2 Die."
“Please note that this is an unauthorized play. Our firm has previously sent a cease and desist notice and any association with the Estate of Christopher Wallace or Notorious B.I.G. are unauthorized,” stated a rep from the estate. Alfred "Paper Love" Green and Raheim Pope, the respective writer and producer of "Ready 2 Die," have apparently been ignoring the cease-and-desist order, which was issued in March following a casting call for their show.
Hopefully Green and Pope got to keep their illegal haul; they'll need something to entertain themselves while waiting around in court, and one of the books they shoplifted was 50 Shades of Grey. And hey, they can take their defense strategy from "Gimme The Loot," too: "Tell him Biggie took it, what the fuck he gonna do?" [Hip Hop DX]
