Rare Deerhunter Demos Available as Free Download

Bradford Cox’s once-thriving blog has been through some lean times recently, although a few intriguing posts went up over the past weekend. The singer posted a clip of two piano players dueling on a version of “Never Stops” (see below) and has also made a package of demos from 2005 available as a free download.

"Responding to several requests I have dug up an old copy of this 2005 Deerhunter CD-R,” writes Cox. “It features only me and Moses and is very experimental in nature. This was during our "tape phase" when we would often play shows as a duo (or as a trio with Colin) playing only tape machines and vocal loops.”

The 10 tracks have been collectively titled Carve Your Initials Into the Walls of the Night and come complete with scans of the original artwork. Additionally, a Flickr slideshow is embedded in the blog post, which features some Deerhunter memorabilia from back in the day.
