A collection of photographs and autographs that Gwyn Blanchard received from the Beatles when she was 14-years old auctioned for £2200 pounds. Blanchard included a note with the items, saying that as she and her friends rain through the rain to try and catch a glimpse of the band during the shooting of Help!, Beatles road manager Mal Evans allowed the group of kids into the band's caravan, where the band ended up giving Blanchard the memorabilia.
The Blanchard's only expected the set to sell for about £300, hoping to pay for a trip to London for their eight great-grandchildren. Gwyn's husband Brian claimed, "We can probably them to Euro Disney now." It is a cute story, but as kind as the thought of selling some signatures to take your grandchildren out is, it just seems wrong to exchange John Lennon's signature for Euro Disney tickets. [Guardian]
