On Monday, a judge sentenced Rico Wright, an aspiring rapper, to 20 years in jail for shooting Chad Blue in 2006. The crucial piece of evidence: Wright rapped on a song about the shooting, saying “Chad Blue knows how I shoot,” which obviously qualifies as a consented confession.
Apparently Wright wasn’t aware that you’re not supposed to rap about felonies that haven’t passed the statute of limitations, and not to call out your victims by name. Look for Wright’s debut to hit via Interscope soon. (Just kidding. But he probably has more cred at this point than most of G-Unit.) [Real Talk NY]
