Rapper & Activist Awkword Drops Longly Awaited Album

Rapper and activist AWKWORD recently teamed up with the good people of DJBooth.net to bring the world the first ever charitable hip hop project.

AWKWORD’s latest album “World View” is available for stream and purchase. All proceeds from the 19-track offering are being donated to Guns 4 Cameras, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that works to eradicate guns and violence from the streets. Guns 4 Cameras educates and empowers the youth through hip hop.

The New York City artist’s ambitious project started five years ago, spans five continents and nine countries and touches on a variety of subjects. AWKWORD uses his music to speak on injustices that many people may not even be familiar with. Private prisons, NYC’s outlandish “stop and frisk” policy, fracking, the death of internet activist Aaron Swartz and many other pressing issues help construct the monumental project.

KRS-One, Chaundon, Steel Tipped Dove, Sha Stimuli, ILL BILL, Harry Fraud, Sean Price, The Kid Daytona, Wordsmith, and many other artists and producers lent a hand on the extensive piece. “World View” is available for stream below in all its glory.
