Thom Yorke and 3D from Massive Attack played DJ sets in London last night in a show of support for the Occupy movement. James Murphy’s former partner in DFA, Tim Goldsworthy, also played a set—and the entire show will be made available on a “pay what you want” basis from the Occupation Records label at some point in the future. All proceeds will go to the Occupy mvement.
The event took place in the basement of an empty building owned by the Swiss banking company UBS, and the Guardian shot some footage that you can see in the clip on this page. “Artists are doing this in solidarity with the Occupy movement,” said Occupy spokesperson Ronan McNern. “It’s tremendous… and hopefully it will be the first of many concerts.”
