We already knew that Radiohead had plans to hit the studio this winter to record what will likely be the follow-up to this year’s The King of Limbs. And even though frontman Thom Yorke hinted at the fact that a tour is likely in 2012, we didn’t know any details other than the fact that, yeah, they want to hit the road.
We still don’t know exactly when and where they’ll tour, but Radiohead’s guitarist, Ed O’Brien, indicated that they will be performing in the U.S. and U.K. from February through November next year. He also said that they won’t just be playing their biggest hits and that they will probably play smaller venues. O’Brien said the band wants to play in venues where “the music is loud, strong, and detailed.” Hmm, theater tour? We’ll see. [Pitchfork]
