The one thing keeping Radiohead fans happy in these trying times of knowing that King of Limbs is the weakest Radiohead album since Pablo Honey is that every Radiohead super-nerd is claiming it's the first half of a longer album. If that sentence describes you, Ed O'Brien is about to dash your hopes: He says there is no planned sequel to the album.
"There are [other] songs that we have started, that we never finished, but there's not like seven or eight finished songs waiting in the wings to be released now, or in the autumn, or something... When we start a new record, we tend to start afresh. It's kind of an evolutionary thing-- only the fittest survive."
So there you have it. No sequel coming, and the other songs from the session aren't done. However! The band is releasing a new single for Record Store Day, and it will feature two new songs, "The Butcher" and "Supercollider." Those, allegedly, according to O'Brien, are the only two leftover songs from the session that will be released. So try to grab that this weekend. [P4K]
