Big news from the Radiohead camp: the band’s guitarist and composer extraordinaire Jonny Greenwood has talked to BBC’s David Prever, confirming the rumors that the English five-piece are in fact rehearsing and tracking new material. The musician said: “We’re currently playing and recording and it’s fun to see everyone again, it’s been a long time coming, we’ve been waiting all of us for a long time.” (via NME).
Greenwood has also mentioned “trying out a bunch of different approaches” for the new album. The band’s previous studio record, 2011’s King of Limbs, was generally well-received and noted for inventive use of dubstep and krautrock influences. It also relied heavily on sampling, a technique the band had not been known to employ extensively before.
