Forget the Lonely Planet and Fodor’s travel guides. If you’re heading to Montreal, the best way to see the city is to be shown around by a native. So when Radiohead showed up in Canada’s second largest city in 2006, they called up Win Butler and his Aracde Fire for a grand tour of Montreal’s sights and sounds. Colin Greenwood has been speaking to the Montreal Gazette about the experience, which saw the two bands bond over bagels, soccer, and Dungeons and Dragons. Greenwood claims that members of the Arcade Fire “took me, Ed and Phil to see some gaming/Dungeons and Dragons thing in the park.” This opens up the possibility that Win Butler might be a Dungeon Master, which has just doubled my respect for him. The two bands also watched some of the 2006 World Cup in a European Community Center, and mused about life on the road. Radiohead is on a North American tour throughout August, which finds them returning to Montreal on August 6. [NME]

Can we start the rumors of a Super Super Group now? Using the hip-hop naming convention (see T-Wayne) they would be called Arcade Head or Radiofire. Ummm...maybe the Super Super Group is a bad idea.
